I was waiting for this time from a long period to post my successful visa interview in this community.
My interview was on 21st may at 1.30 pm.There was only one visa officer interviewing in the consulate.she was 30-35 years of age. She alone took almost all the interviews that happened in front of me. at last there were approximately 8-10 candidates to be interviewd for that day after mine. i think at 2.45 pm another visa officer started taking interviews just before my interview. i didnt see that officer.the person before me was sent to that officer and i was sent to the 1st officer. i think i was lucky that i went to 1st visa officer because she issued most of the visas today.here goes my interview i was very nervous at tat time.
ME: hello mam.. gud afternoon with smile(she didnt look me)
VO: Pass me u r application
Me: Sure mam.. passed my documents
VO: Why SUNYIT(state University of New York Institute of Technology at Utica)
ME: Mam...The first and foremost factor for selecting this university was the course being offered.. Telecom at SUNYIT is a cross-disciplinary course. Besides technical knowledge, this course also enhances the managerial skills which is the demand of the present-day telecom industry.
VO: ok.. Since how many months you are working in NGCC technologies(In my DS-160 from i have mentioned that iam persuing Networking Course in NGCC technologies)
ME: No mam iam not working in that company. i have done networking Course in that institute.
VO:ok. DO you have any experience in Networking.
ME: No mam.i just completed that Course.
VO: Where did your brother completed his masters(i have mentioned in DS-160 form that i have my Brother in USA and he is on NON-immigrant Visa)
ME: From same university
ME: now he is on an internship in a Company.
VO: is he on his OPT(optional practical Trainning)
ME: yes mam
Vo: What will your parents do
ME: my father is working as ...XXXXX.. his annual income is ..XXXX.. and mother is working as..XXXX..her annual income is..XXXX..
VO: ok ur visa has been aproved u will get it in a week..
ME:thanks alot mam..(i dont remember wehether i said this or not as i was in Shock for 2 mins listening to U R VISA HAS BEEN APROVED..)
And i was also in Shock for 2mins Just before my interview Thinking what to talk in Interview

In my first two interviews in the last spring in december 2009. i was interviewed only for 1 or 2 minutes
only 3 questions in both the interviews

This time i was very lucky she didnt asked me this Questions...
Guys dont loose ur hopes if u are rejected for once or twice.. If u are lucky enuff u will get it in the 3rd or 4th attempt. But prepare well for all the possible questions....BEST OF LUCK... GUYS.. GO GET IT..

It was so simple and all the F1 applicants got visa today.

I got my visa today at 10 in the morning. My VI went like this..
ME: Good Morning Sir! (with a smile)
VO: Good Morning!
VO: Which Univ?
ME: told
VO: Why that univ?
ME: told (Talk about your area of interest and your univs labs and all)
VO: Do you have work exp?
ME: No Sir
VO: Backlogs?
ME: told (In case you have any, please tell him confidently)
VO: Undergrad percent?

And then the golden words.
Three things to keep in mind at the time of interview:
1. Be confident (They are sitting there to give visas and NOT reject!)
2. Maintain eye contact (Very Very important)
3. Smile (IT IS going to help)

congrats sir ur visa is issued and u can collect in a weeks time........THX to god he gifted me on my birthday and I am happy for that...ran out and hugged my dad who was waiting for me.
Guys maintain eye contact.....and while justifying accept ur mistake....prove that u r changed and determined...ALL THE BEST and thx to orkut...thx to one and all who were helpful to me...

EYE CONTACT IS IMPORTANT
after the security check i had to wait for approx 20 mins till my sevis no. and blue hdfc slip were checked. then i had to wait for another 25 mins till fingerprints were taken after that one and a half hours till my turn came. the reason for delay was there was only one VO and approx. 40 people for the VI. there were people who came out bright and happy with their visas assured in less than a min. there were people who were in for 5-6 mins. dunno if they got their visas. i think they did. max. were F-1. rest were dependents, H-1 etc etc. not many rejects i guess.
when it was my turn even before i could smile or wish the VO was in a hurry.
VO: come in.
me: hello..
VO: give me your passport and i-20.
while she was taking them..
VO: when did you passout?
me: 2009 ma'am.
VO: what have you done since then?
me: i signed up for a few networking and IT courses which would help for my graduation.
VO: what specialization will you be taking up in M.S. Telecommunications?
me: Wireless Security Systems.
VO: okay, what are your parents?
me: both?? she nodded her head.
i told her and she was like
"okay, i want you to fill up this form before i can issue you visa"
and gave me form in which i had to fill details about what projects i had done earlier what specialization would i be taking up in M.S. and what would i do after M.S. any funding from school, previous schools and universities,....
by the time i finished filling up the form i was the last to leave the consulate and i had to give the filled up form and passport to the indian officials standing there...
she didn't ask percentage, backlogs, and any documents or anything....
This is how it went for me..!!
Coming to my VI I was rejected becoz I made small small blunder mistakes.
VO:- Hi, Good Afternoon.

Me:- (I thought How do u know about this univ) & I told about that & finally I could manage it to wat she asked.
VO:- How do u support
Me:- My parents ( this is another blunder mistake. I got Scholarship & education loan. But, I didn't mention that)
VO:- Wat are they?
Me:- Here I told about them but I lost Eye contact with here.
Vo:- Wat's ur %
Me:- 57%
Vo: backlogs
Me:- 15 (She didn't care this)
Vo:- Show me ur marks sheets
Me:- Showed (But I didnt maintain the eye contact
Vo:- Do u have Exp?
Me:-(Actually iam 2007 passed out & I underwent a leg surgery. In Ds160 I didnt mention about work exp) I told 3months exp & I underwent a leg surgery. (wat I told to her was correct. But, she didn't get convinced. This was the last & big big blunder of my interview).
In the Final question & in the support question if i convinced her then I would have got the Visa.
But, I am happy that I was rejected. Because, in this month many are getting 2yrs & last yr also in the may month many of them got 2yrs & later in june everyone got for 5yrs. So, I am happy. This is not to cover my mistake but I am taking it as a positive way So, don't get depressed if anyone of them didnt get the Visa for the 1st time You should take it as Positive

actually,i want to set up my own industry after completing masters,inorder to set up industry one shud have both techinical and management skills,industrial management is nothng but combination of both technology and management... in my bachelors wt i learned is little, i want be professional. and moreover i have worked for java developer and as administrator(dba)... having knowledge in programmer and administrator... so iwant to improve my techincal and management skills... inorder to set my own industry.. thats y i preferd this course

it purely depends on how confidently u give him ur answers.
there r some things to keep in mind
..never give explanations (just answer what he asks )
..never argue with VO
...most imp never get afraid of VO...talk calmy but confidently...nervousness is natural
but if u are not confident.then u are out.
many ppl say how can u be so confident and calm in such a tense situation.
to be confident u have to take the burden off urselves that "visa is only chance for ur survival"
we shud think that visa is jus a chance or just a option ..its not everything...
if u accept this fact. ur confidence builds up and u will talk calmy without nervousness
as i did . he didnt ask me my marks,my financial docs or my any docs..i didnt even open my folder.
the secret is
VO doesnt know if u r genuine or not
but he gets his clue only from ur facial expressions and bodylanguage. they are trained to read peoples mind by judging their face value.
so be confident and always dress in light shades..never wear black pants and light shirts.instead wear casual light color pants and light color shirts.

Stating the visa interview date and mentioning the old sevis details and the new sevis details. It will be transferred in 2 working days.

I had given my interview 2day afternoon at 2pm. I had reached the consulate at 1 and was let in at 1:30. Guys seriously don't go too early, 45 mins to 1hour is more than enuf. Its too hot and there is nothing but a bus shelter n some trees to wait
outside. Anyways, as soon as I entered, there was a security check and from there I was directed to a counter. This was an Indian lady who checked my i20 n all and then she asked me to proceed to another counter. Here please keep in mind to get a good color print of the confirmation page. She had sent three ppl standing b4 me 'coz the bar-code was not recognosied by the machine. From there when I went to the next counter I was shocked. Last time v had to wait outside n take a token n wait for our chance to go 4 the interview, but this time it was a quickie. Direct after the initial checking of docs I was in d line for visa. There was a couple whose interview was going on n the VO took like bout 5 mins for them but he issued them a visa. In the meantime I got the chance to gulp down some water from the cooler over there. I saw ppl very hesitant to do that, but its better to drink rather than nt ans properly due to a parched throat rt..
I approached the window with a big smile.. This is important dudes,
helps you to control ur tension n hides ur nervousness and also
displays a positive attitude.
Me : Good Morning Sir, How r u?
While Saying this I passed the documents.
Vo : Why do u want to go to the US?
Me : I want to pirsue my MBA from Pittsburg State University.
Vo : Why did u choose this university?

Jus be confident about whatever u tell n do ur research
on the univ well beforehand.,
Vo : U said that u have a job experience.
Me : Yes sir, I have worked for about 2 years in XXXX
Vo : Ok, What was ur job?

(Actually it was mentioned as 26 months on my DS forms)
Me : Yes sir, Well actually its a lil more than that.
Vo : What did u say to the officer last time?
(He asked this question exactly lik this, as if it was a casual talk)
Me : He had asked me pretty much the same questions and I had answered them in a similar way. I fulfilled all the requirements of the university and the american consulate here, but I guess I was hard on luck the last time.
Then he typed something and signed on my confirmation letter,
Then the golden words... :D Your application has been accepted,
you will recieve your passport in 7 working days.
I was very happy n I thanked him.
Thats it guys pretty much simple.

B.E : 60 % with 2X backlogs :D 2X.. no numbers mentioned but quite a lot :P
Jus wanna tell u that its all easy if u r confident and answer confidenty.
Unless or untill he sees the use of it, he will not ask for ur docs.
But prepare well for all the possible questions and yeah the visa stuff
that has been mailed to me by sai kiran in this forum was extremely useful as it has the answers to most of the questions.

I had my visa interview on Feb 11 and it was very cool..
What i would like to suggest you is show a bank balance of your one year expenditure..
My one year expenses mentioned on I20 was around 26 lakhs..So i showed a bank balance of 28 lakhs...
Visa officer asked me how much savings u have then i said 28 lakhs..then she looked at the i20 and said u have so much money..laughing..and that the last question my visa approved..
There might be many reasons for one's rejection...and bank balanace is one of prime importance..
Better go with high bank balance and if possible show loan letter also...

she was convinced but had som doubts in her mind ,, so she gave me back my passport and wrote somethng on the DS 160 form and said to go to counter no. 16
i went there, then her a lady (indian) gave me a questionare and said to write then and there some questions related i have filled up the form and i gave it to her and asked that is it a rejection she said no it will be delayed that's all
Finally i was happy to hear that, but friends my university's orientation class is on 24th march will i get it in time , they have taken my passport and also i20

I'm the one of the last persons who are attending VISA Actually total Appoinments 240 my token number is 234.
My Token number Came and I proceeded towards Counter number 11 where my first Visa Got Rejected The i thought this time also my VISA Gone like that
luckily while she checking Documents the Sensor power gone and guided me towards Counter number 10 when VO is male and he already rejected one VISA when i'm in the Queue, then again started the fear, in a mean while i observing Counter number 9 who is approving most of the visas.
b4 me at Counter 10 a E class interview is going on in Hindi,which is consuming time.
then 240 token person took the interview but i didn't still then one person came and Guided to the Counter no 9 to attend the Interview

this is my experience at the visa consulate Hyderabad.
Some tips, Made eye contact with VO, and never be with dull face be smile, they behave like in Friendly nature,and speak the words with very confidence which is very important in the interview. thats it. to learn this tips it took me to take 2 interviews
